W H I T E , Assistant Professor of Architecture, academic year, one-half pay; for visiting schools whose instruction has the most impact upon contemporary architecture, in the United States, in Japan, and in Europe. Chicago Professional Colleges College of Medicine ROBERT M. KARK, Professor of Medicine, six months from July I, 1961, full pay; to study renal disorders; work to be done in London. KLAUS R. U N N A , Professor of Pharmacology and H e a d of the Department, six months from October I, i960, full pay; to study the history of pharmacology in the nineteenth century, as H o n o r a r y Professor at the University of Vienna. College of Pharmacy BERNARD GREENBERG, Assistant Professor of Zoology, academic year, one-half pay; to study host-contaminant biology of Muscoid flies, in Italy. ALFRED J. PERKINS, Associate Professor of Chemistry, six months from January 23, 1961, full pay; for examination of the structure of the trithio carbonate ion and tetrathiocarbonates; work to be done at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Research and Educational Hospitals CONRAD L. PIRANI, Professor of Pathology and Pathologist, six months from March 20, 1961, full pay; to study connective tissues; work to be done in Europe. O n m o t i o n of M r s . W a t k i n s , t h e s e l e a v e s w e r e g r a n t e d a s recommended. AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS GOVERNING ASSESSMENT OF RESIDENT OR NONRESIDENT STUDENT FEES (5) T h e Committee on Fees recommends a revision in paragraph 15 in the "Regulations Governing Assessment of Resident or Nonresident Student Fees," effective June 1, i960, as follows; the changes are shown in italics and language to be deleted is in parentheses. Staff members and the spouses and dependent children of staff members of the University and allied agencies located in Champaign-Urbana on full-time appointment (at the University), members of the faculties of state-supported institutions of higher education in Illinois on full-time appointment, (and) teachers on full-time appointment in the elementary and secondary schools in Illinois, and staff members on full-time appointment with allied agencies located elsewhere in Illinois shall be permitted to attend the University upon paying the same tuition and other fees assessed against resident students during the period the staff member, faculty member, or teacher holds such appointment and during the Summer Session immediately following the school year for which such appointment was effective. (. . . and is performing the duties of the position specified above to which he has been appointed.) I concur. O n m o t i o n of M r . APPROPRIATION FOR GRADUATE COLLEGE FELLOWSHIPS FOR 1 9 6 0 - 6 1 (6) On request of the Dean of the Graduate College and with the concurrence of the Vice-President and Provost and the Vice-President and Comptroller, I recommend an appropriation of $282,500 for fellowships during the academic year 1960-61 — $262,500 for graduate study at Urbana and $20,000 for graduate study at the Chicago Professional Colleges. This is the same annual amount as has been assigned by the Board for fellowships during the past several years.
