TANNER, Professor of Bacteriology, second semester, 1940-1941. Sixteen applications for sabbatical leaves during 1940-1941 were submitted to the Graduate School Research Board for its consideration and analysis of the program of study, research, and travel contemplated in each case, and for the Research Board's recommendation to the President. T h e full report of the Research Board, which includes an analysis of, and a summary of its conclusion on, each case, is available for presentation to the Board of Trustees if information in such detail is desired. It was the judgment of the Research Board that the programs submitted by three applicants did not justify leaves of absence on full pay, and in those
