After discussion of the offer of the United States of America to amend the contract created by the acceptance by the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, through its Executive Committee, of the offer of the United States of America dated June 28, 1938, to aid by way of a grant in financing the construction of a Student Center Building (P.W.A. Project Illinois 1745-F), the following resolution, numbered I, was proposed by Mrs. Plumb and read in full:

RESOLUTION NO. I

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF THE U N I T E D STATES TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS TO A I D BY W A Y OF GRANT IN FINANCING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STUDENT CENTER BUILDING

Be it resolved by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois: Section 1. That the offer of the United States of America to the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois to amend the contract, created by the acceptance by the Board of Trustees of the original offer of the United States of America dated June 28, 1938, to aid by way of grant in financing the construction of a Student Center Building, a copy of which offer reads as follows:

C , Dated: July 26, 1939 Docket No. 111. 1745-F Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois T h e United States of America hereby offers to amend the contract created by the acceptance by the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, on July 15, 1938, of the Offer made by the United States of America and dated June 28, 1938, by striking out, in Line 10 of Paragraph I of said Offer, the figures "$450,000" and inserting in lieu thereof the figures "$524,820." be and the same is hereby in all respects accepted. Section 2. That said Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois agrees to abide by all the terms and conditions relating to such grant, as modified, a copy of which terms and conditions was annexed to the Government's original offer and made a part thereof. Section 3. That the Secretary of the Board and Clerk of the Executive Committee be and he is hereby authorized and directed forthwith to send to the Federal W o r k s Agency three certified extracts from the minutes of this meeting showing the adoption and containing the full text of this resolution.

The above resolution was seconded by Mr. Moschel and was adopted with the following voting aye: Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Moschel, Mr. Mayer; and the following voting nay: none. The Chairman thereupon declared said resolution carried, and the Secretary of the Board and Clerk of the Executive Committee thereupon signed said resolution in approval thereof.
