2. Dr. H a n s Brunner, Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology, on one-half time, for one year from September 1, 1939, at a salary of $1,200. O n m o t i o n of M r . APPOINTMENT TO BOARD OF EXAMINERS IN ACCOUNTANCY (29) T h e Committee on Accountancy recommends the appointment of Mr. Cranston Spray, of the firm of Scott, MacLeish, and Falk, 134 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, as a member of the Board of Examiners in Accountancy for a period of three years from July 1, 1939, to succeed Mr. Erwin T. Gilruth, whose term expired June 30. O n m o t i o n of M r . G e a r y , t h i s a p p o i n t m e n t w a s m a d e a s r e c o m mended. RESIGNATION OF PROFESSOR GLENN R. MORROW (30) Professor Glenn R. Morrow of the Department of Philosophy has resigned his position to accept a professorship at the University of Pennsylvania, effective September 1, 1939. H e feels that the new position offers professional opportunities not available at the University of Illinois. The question of salary has not been raised. O n m o t i o n of M r . J e n s e n , t h i s r e s i g n a t i o n w a s a c c e p t e d . APPOINTMENT TO THE KATE NEAL KINLEY MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIP (31) A report of the appointment of Miss Beulah Pauline Featherstone of Franklin, Illinois, as the Eighth Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellow; and of Mr. Robert Ashton Strauch of Urbana, as alternate. Miss Featherstone was a candidate in the field of Painting, Mr. Strauch in the field of History of Architecture. This is a fellowship for foreign study which was established by President Emeritus David Kinley as a memorial to Mrs. Kinley. O n m o t i o n of M r . K a r r a k e r , t h e a c t i o n of t h e P r e s i d e n t in m a k i n g these appointments w a s approved and confirmed. APPOINTMENTS TO PLYM FELLOWSHIPS (32) A report that the following appointments have been made to the Plym Fellowship in Architecture and in Architectural Engineering: 1. Mr. Leonard Wayman, 3005 Clifton Avenue, Chicago (26th Plym Fellow in Architecture). 2. Mr. Thomas Justin Imbs, School of Architecture, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut (16th Plym Foreign Fellow in Architectural Engineering). O n m o t i o n of M r . M o s c h e l , t h e a c t i o n of t h e P r e s i d e n t o f t h e U n i v e r s i t y in m a k i n g t h e s e a p p o i n t m e n t s w a s a p p r o v e d a n d c o n f i r m e d . LEAVES OF ABSENCE (33) T h e recommendation that the following leaves of absence be granted members of the staff for the reasons and periods and under the conditions indicated in each case: 1. E r m a Cottingham, District 4-H Club Adviser (Extension Staff), leave of absence without pay from June 12 to August 31, 1939, in addition to vacation and sick leave allowances, on account of her health. Miss Cottingham was given a leave of absence of thirty days with pay last fall. 2. Dr. Lucy G. Coon, Instructor in Hygiene and Medical Advisor, a leave of absence of four weeks with pay (in addition to her vacation allowance of six weeks), for study in the University of Iowa and University of Minnesota Medical Schools.
