2. A class list be prepared early in the summer and that students offered places in the class be required to make within two weeks of the date of notification a deposit of fifteen dollars. This deposit will be applied on fees assessed against the student during the first semester. Failure to make the deposit within the specified time will subject the applicant to the forfeiture of his place. No deposit will be returned unless the applicant notifies the College of Dentistry not later than September I that he will not be able to enter. 3. T h e faculty be authorized to prepare and submit to the Board of Trustees a plan for the selective admission of students.

On motion of Dr. Meyer, these regulations were adopted, effective at once.

ADMISSION TO GRADUATE WORK IN MEDICINE A N D DENTISTRY (9) T h e University Senate recommends adoption of the following scholastic requirements for admission to graduate work in Medicine and Dentistry: Applicants must have secured a scholastic average of at least 3.5 or its equivalent on the University of Illinois scale in their undergraduate work in order to qualify for admission. Applicants who do not have the 3.5 average in all courses, but who have maintained such an average in the field chosen for graduate work, may be admitted on written recommendation of the head of the department concerned, with the approval of the Committee on Graduate W o r k in Medicine and Dentistry. In all such cases admission will be to special graduate status. O n m o t i o n of M r s . P l u m b , t h i s r e q u i r e m e n t w a s a d o p t e d . A t this point, P r e s i d e n t M a y e r , being called f r o m the r o o m , a s k e d M r . K a r r a k e r to take the chair. SALE OF HART FARM IN FRANKLIN COUNTY M r . P o g u e , for the F i n a n c e Committee, presented the following report. T h e Finance Committee recommends that the following described land be sold in accordance with the terms hereinafter mentioned, and that the President and Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute a warranty deed for the premises: T h e South one-half ( J 4 ) of the Southwest Q u a r t e r (%) of Section Twenty (20), except one (1) acre in the Southeast corner. T h e South sixty (60) acres of the East one-half (y2) of the Northwest Quarter (%), and the West onehalf (Y2) of the Northwest Quarter {%) and the Northwest Quarter WA) of the the Southwest Quarter (%.) in Section Twenty-nine (29). T h e Southeast Quarter (%) of the Northeast Quarter (yk\ and the Northeast Quarter (%) of the Southeast Q u a r t e r (J4) in Section Thirty (30), all in Township Six (6) South, Range T h r e e ( 3 ) , East of the Third Principal Meridian in Franklin County, Illinois. A short time ago Dr. W. H . Alvis, of Benton, Illinois, offered $2,790 cash for the remaining 279 acres of the farm subject to a prior conveyance of the coal, oil, and gas rights with certain surface and mineral privileges and subject to taxes for the year 1939 payable in 1940, subject also to an easement made by the Board along the east side of the land to the Southeastern Illinois Electric Cooperative, Inc. for the purpose of installing an electric transmission line, subject also to the rights of tenants in possession, with none of whom there is any written lease and with only one of whom there is any verbal understanding. T h e offer was subject to immediate acceptance. On the advice of the Chairman of the Finance Committee, Dr. Alvis was advised that the acceptance of his offer would be recommended and that the Board would approve said recommendation.

On motion of Mr. Jensen, this sale was authorized as recommended, and the President and the Secretary of the Board were authorized to execute a proper deed, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Adams, Mr. Jensen, Mr. Karraker, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Moschel, Mrs. Plumb, Mr.
