Change Order No. 1, contract with W . E. O'Neil Construction Company for general work. (1) Revise locations of partitions and doors in rooms #105 and #105-A in accordance with attached blueprints. (No change in price) (2) Provide net increase of 2,704 lbs. of reinforcing steel in accordance with letter from architect, 12/28/38, and quotation of contractor dated 2/27/39. Add $113 57

Mr. Havens presented this item. On motion of Mr. Moschel, the action of the President of the University in approving these change orders was ratified and confirmed.

REMOVAL OF MUMFORD HOUSE (22) T h e development of the south campus contemplates eventual removal of the residence which was occupied for many years by Dean H . W. Mumford and his family, and in which Mrs. Mumford is still living. T h e University has no use for this house, and the Physical Plant Department recommends that it be offered to Mrs. Mumford for $100 on condition that she remove it at her expense during the summer of 1939.

On motion of Mr. Jensen, this recommendation was approved, and the Physical Plant Department was authorized, in the event that Mrs. Mumford declines the offer, to take bids and to effect the removal of the house.

ADDITION TO MCKINLEY HOSPITAL (23) The University Health Officer reports that the recent epidemic of influenza has demonstrated that even with the addition to the McKinley Hospital now under construction the University's hospital facilities will not be adequate to meet peak load demands. A copy of his report is hereby given to the Secretary of the Board for record. H e recommends that consideration be given to the construction of a wing at the north end of the hospital similar to the addition now being constructed at the south end.
