Urbana, vendor to pay transportation on returned containers. This price includes the Illinois Sales T a x . 2. One large Littrow Spectrograph, for Graduate School research and Chemistry, from Bausch and Lomb Optical Company, Chicago, at a price of $2,800 f.o.b. Urbana. 3. One carload of Select Kiln Dried Douglas F i r (about 31,000 board feet) of various sizes, from W m . C. Schreiber Lumber Company of Chicago, the lowest bidder, at a price of $1,077.75. 4. 250 cases P y r e x Laboratory Glassware for stock for the General Chemical Storeroom from E. H . Sargent and Company, Chicago, at a price of approximately $4,200. This is a noncompetitive item, as it is sold only through jobbers at prices fixed by the manufacturer, and the lowest price applies to lots of 100 or more cases. 5. Steel book shelving for various libraries and reading rooms from W . B. Read and Company (for Lyon shelving), Bloomington, Illinois, at a price of $1,599.62, f.o.b. Urbana and installed. PURCHASE AUTHORIZED (18) A report of the following purchase authorized by the President of the University, pursuant to the Statutes, of forty drawing tables for the Department of Civil Engineering from W. B. Read and Company, Bloomington, the lowest bidder, at a price of $1,002.80.

On motion of Mr. Cleary, the action of the President of the University in authorizing this purchase was confirmed.
