Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Board of Trustees hereby confirms the action of the President of the Board, taken pursuant to previous authorization by the Board, in awarding the aforesaid contracts. CONTRACT C H A N G E ORDERS FOR PWA PROJECTS (14) On October 17, 1938, the Board of Trustees authorized the President of the University and the Director of t h e Physical Plant Department to approve change orders, not exceeding $500 in cost, on contracts for all buildings for which the University has received a grant from the United States of America through the Federal Emergency Administration of Public W o r k s . I report my approval, and request confirmation by the Board of Trustees, of the following contract change orders which have been authorized to date: lllini Union Building (111. No. 1745-F) Change O r d e r No. 1, contract with E. N . DeAtley for steam tunnel construction. Improvement of present tunnel roof to provide adequate support for roof slabs of new tunnel where new and old tunnels join, at an additional cost of $333 00 Change Order No. 1, contract with General Paving Company for relocation of sanitary sewers. Relocation of sewer and manholes southeast of new building in order to pass south of cypress trees rather than between them, as covered by quotation of October 6, 1938, at a cost of $ 75 00 Change Order No. 1, contract with A r t h u r W. Murray Company for relocation of the electrical conduit around two cypress trees, extension of valve boxes to higher finished grade levels, and relocation of water service connections and fire hydrant. Extension of raised portion of 6" water main some 30' to 35' so as to permit relocation of new electrical conduit between Union and Entomology Buildings, as per quotation $108 50
