(18) A recommendation that the Board authorize a total budget of not to exceed $130,000 for the Summer Session of 1939 and that the Acting Director be authorized to set up the teaching program and make other plans in accordance therewith. O n motion of M r . K a r r a k e r , this budget was authorized as recommended.

APPROPRIATION FOR GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS, 19 3 9 - 1 9 4 0

(19) A recommendation that an appropriation of $40,000 be made for scholarships and fellowships in the Graduate School during the year 1939-1940. O n motion of M r s . REWIRING PHYSICS BUILDING

(20) A recommendation that an assignment of $500 be made from the General Reserve Fund to the Physical Plant Department for the additions to the staff to make a study of the rewiring of the Physics Building. APPROPRIATION FOR REMODELING OF ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

(21) At a recent meeting of the Board an assignment of $3,800 was made from the General Reserve Fund for remodeling of the basements in the Administration Building. Since then the departments concerned have requested additional alterations which will increase the cost of the work by $580, and the Physical Plant Department therefore requests a supplementary appropriation of this amount for the work. APPROPRIATION FOR REPLACEMENT OF FLOOR IN DAIRY MANUFACTURES BUILDING

(22) At a iormer meeting of the Board the replacement of the floor in the Dairy Manufactures Building was discussed and the Department was asked to reconsider the project in view of the cost. It now recommends the replacement of flooring in only the milk and cream receiving room, where it is in greater need of attention than elsewhere in the building. This will furnish an opportunity to observe the success of the type of flooring selected before proceeding with the rest of the work. The Department also requests the installation of tile in the walls of this room, as requested by the State Department of Health. The total cost of this project is $1,250. I recommend that an appropriation of this amount be made from the General Reserve Fund. O n motion of M r . Pogue, this appropriation was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r .
