LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR E. H . CAMERON (2) A recommendation that D r . E. H . Cameron, Professor of Education and Director of the Summer Session, be given leave of absence on account of illness (1) as Professor of Education from September 15, 1938, to January 31, 1939, with full p a y ; ( 2 ) as Director of the Summer Session, one year from September 1, 1938, without pay. Professor Cameron receives $750 as Director of the Summer Session and $6,400 as Professor of Education. T h e arrangement herein proposed is that he be paid at an annual rate of $6,400, releasing $750 for the salary of an Acting Director of the Summer Session. (Since the work of the Director of the Summer Session is not confined to t h e eight weeks of the session, but is carried on throughout the regular academic year, the salary is spread over the twelve months.) O n m o t i o n of M r . K a r r a k e r , this leave w a s g r a n t e d a s recommended. APPOINTMENT O F ACTING DIRECTOR OF T H E SUMMER SESSION (3) A recommendation that Dr. R. B. Browne, Assistant Professor of Education and Director of University Extension, be appointed Acting Director of the Summer Session effective September 1, 1938, and continuing until August 31, 1939, at an additional salary of $750, vice Director Cameron, who has been obliged to ask for a leave of absence on account of illness. O n m o t i o n of M r s . F r e e m a n , this a p p o i n t m e n t w a s m a d e as recommended. A t this point, M r . Moschel took his place with the Board. LEAVE O F ABSENCE FOR MISS ANNA BELLE ROBINSON (4) A report that Miss Anna Belle Robinson, Associate in H o m e Economics Education, has been given leave of absence from October I, to December 31, 1938, with pay, on account of physical disability; t h e Department h a s arranged to carry on her work without additional expense to the University. O n m o t i o n of M r s . P l u m b , this action w a s confirmed. RETIREMENT OF PROFESSOR F. G. DYAS (5) A request from D r . F . G. Dyas, Professor of Surgery on the Clinical staff, that he be relieved of his teaching and be retired. H e was born on December
