Budget of the Athletic Association of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for Fiscal Year 1984 (4) T h e director of intercollegiate athletics has submitted, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association, the budget for the association for 1983-84 which is summarized as follows with comparable figures for the preceding year: 1983-84 1982-83 Estimated income from Athletic Association activities.. $6 729 765 $6 316 539 Appropriations 6 718 456 6 316 539 Unappropriated budget income $ 11 309 $ -0T h c budget has been reviewed and approved by the chancellor at the UrbanaChampaign campus and by the vice president for business and finance. I recommend that this budget be approved within the limits of and not to exceed funds available, and that the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association be authorized to make such changes and adjustments, including approval of new appointments and acceptance of resignations, as arc necessary within the total income and surplus of the association, provided that: the assignment of funds for new projects or nonrecurring capital expenditures in excess of $25,000 shall be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval. O n motion of M r . H a h n , this recommendation was approved and authority was given as recommended by the following vote: Aye, M r s . Day, Dr. Donoghue, M r . Forsyth, M r . H a h n , M r . H o w a r d , M r . Logan, M r . M a d d e n , M r . Stone; no, n o n e ; absent, Mrs. Shepherd, Governor Thompson. ( T h e student advisory vote w a s : Aye, M r . Bolen, M r . Milkint; no, none.) By consensus, the board agreed that one vote would be taken and considered die vole on each agenda item nos. 5 through 26 inclusive. T h e recommendations were individually discussed but acted upon a t one time. ( T h e record of board action appears at the end of each item.) Award of Certified Public Accountant Certificates (5) T h e Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of certified public accountant be awarded to 1,334 candidates who passed the standard written examination given May 4-6, 1983, in Illinois and who have fulfilled all other legal requirements under Sections 1, 2, and 3 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended. T h e names of the candidates arc tiled with the secretary. The Committee on Accountancy also recommends that the certificate of certified public accountant be awarded, under Section 5 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended, to twenty-seven candidates who have prese riled evidence that they are holders of valid and unrevoked certified public accountant certificates
