It is further recommended that the chancellor, with the concurrence of the comptroller, be granted authority to approve changes in the amounts for any of the organizations listed above, within the totals shown, and to approve agreements with other organizations as needed within the grand total. Funds have been included in the appropriation bill of the General Assembly to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the University for FY 1984 and will be included in the College of Medicine operating budget authorization requests for FY 1984 to be submitted to the Board of Trustees. Award of these contracts is subject to the availability of such funds. T h e vice president for academic affairs and the vice president for business and finance concur. I recommend approval. Contract for Graduate Medical Education Services, College of Medicine at Rockford (25) I n several prior actions, the Board of Trustees has approved contractual arrangements with the Rockford Medical Education Foundation to assist with the medical education program at the College of Medicine at Rockford T h e chancellor at Chicago has recommended that the University continue to contract with the foundation for patient care by residents assigned to the Office for Family Practice, College of Medicine at Rockford. It is proposed that a contract be authorized with the Rockford Medical Education program for an amount not to exceed $275,000 for this purpose in FY 1984. Funds are available and will be included in the College of Medicine Restricted Funds operating budget authorization request for FY 1984 to be submitted to the board in September.
