I t is further recommended that the chancellor, with the concurrence of the comptroller, be granted authority to approve changes in the amounts for any of the organizations listed above, within the totals shown, and to approve agreements with other organizations as needed within the grand total. Funds have been included in the appropriation bill before the General Assembly to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the University for FY 1987, and will be included in the College of Medicine operating budget authorization requests for FY 1987 to be submitted to the Board of Trustees. Award of these contracts is subject to the availability of such funds. T h e vice president for academic affairs and the vice president for business and finance concur. I recommend approval. Contract for Medical Education Services, College of Medicine, Rockford

(26) In several prior actions, the Board of Trustees has approved contractural arrangements with the Rockford Medical Education Foundation to assist with the program of the College of Medicine at Rockford. T h e chancellor at the Chicago campus has recommended that the University continue to reimburse the Foundation for patient care by residents assigned to the Office for Family Practice, College of Medicine at Rockford. It is proposed that a contract be authorized with the Foundation for this purpose in Fiscal Year 1987 for an amount not to exceed $300,000.* Funds will be included in the Restricted Funds Operating budget of the College of Medicine to be submitted to the board for FY 1987. Contract with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Division of Services for Crippled Children, Chicago

(27) T h e chancellor at Chicago has recommended approval, subject to the availability of funds, of a contract with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, for $74,200 for the period July 1, 1986, through June 30, 1987, to establish a clinic in Springfield for the Division of Services for Crippled Children to study and manage children suffering from myelomeningocele. 2 T h e contract involves coordination between the institutions and the development of a total care plan. Its objective is to allow for physical and mental growth
