Contracts for Fire Service Institute Projects for FY 1985, Urbana

(20) T h e president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends the award of the following construction contracts in Fiscal Year 1985 for the Fire Service Institute at the Urbana-Champaign campus. The award in each case is to the lowest bidder on the total of its base bid and indicated alternate. Division I — General Ellington Miller Edmonds, Inc., Danville Base Bid Alt. It is further recommended that: (1) the contracts for plumbing and electrical work be assigned to the contractor for general work (Alternate G - l ) ; and (2) an agreement be made with Ellington Miller Edmonds, Inc., for the assignment of the other contracts to the general contractor. The FY 1984 Institute projects included the first phase of construction of a classroom/office building, viz., installing the foundation, floor slab, and underground utilities. The FY 1985 projects include the construction of the shell for the building and the construction of a water meter vault. Funds are available in the FY 1985 Appropriated funds budget of the Fire Service Institute. A schedule of the bids received has been filed with the secretary of the board for record.

Contract, Assembly Hall Fire Alarm System, Urbana

(21) The president of the University, with the concurrence of the appropriate administrative officers, recommends the award of a contract to Coleman Electrical Service, Inc., Mansfield, for $124,900 for the fire alarm system of the Assembly Hall, Urbana-Champaign campus. This project is to remodel the present system to provide a fire alarm and detection system corresponding to current fire code requirements. Basic components of the system include heat and smoke detectors; control of air handling
