482 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [March 10 the Board of Trustees meetings of October 15 and November 11-12, 1987, copies of which had previously been sent to the board. O n motion of M r . Forsyth, these minutes were approved. BUSINESS PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY President Ikenberry recognized and introduced observers from the campus senates and from the University Senates Conference. 1 Financial Situation, Illinois President Ikenberry reported briefly a n the work of the statewide campaign in which the University is heavily involved, seeking sufficient resources for public education at all levels in Illinois for the next fiscal year. H e was encouraged by the widespread support among the general public and by the work of the University's alumni, staff, students, and others. REGULAR AGENDA T h e board considered the following reports and recommendations from the president of the University. Budgets for 1988 Summer Sessions, Chicago and Urbane-Champaign (2) The chancellors at the Chicago and Urbana-Champaign campuses have recommended the foUowing budgets and appointments to the faculty for the 1988 summer sessions. (Copies of the budget documents are filed with the secretary of the board.)
