the facsimile signatures of the two following: president and secretary; and the First National Bank of Chicago (including its correspondent banks) shall be entitled to honor and to charge this corporation for all such checks, drafts, or other orders, regardless of by whom or by what means the facsimile signature or signatures thereon may have been affixed thereto, if such facsimile signature or signatures resemble the facsimile specimens duly certified to or filed with the First National Bank of Chicago by the secretary or other officer of this corporation. And Be It Further Resolved that the State Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to honor vouchers bearing facsimile signatures of the president and secretary of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois if such facsimile signatures resemble the facsimile specimens duly certified to or filed with the State Comptroller by the secretary. These authorizations are to continue in effect until the State Comptroller has been supplied with specimen signatures of succeeding officers of this board. O n motion of Mr. Forsyth, the foregoing resolution was adopted unanimously. RECESS T h e board recessed briefly and reconvened for meetings of the University Hospital Committee and the Student Welfare and Activities Committee. T h e board reconvened in regular session at 11:05 a j n . MINUTES APPROVED T h e secretary presented for approval the press proof of the minutes of the Board of Trustees meeting of September 10, 1987, copies of which had previously been sent to the board. O n motion of M r . Forsyth, these minutes were approved. BUSINESS PRESENTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY President Ikenberry recognized and introduced observers from the campus senates and from the University Senates Conference. 1 Board Retreat, March 9,1988 T h e president announced that plans were developing for the agenda of the Board of Trustees' Retreat in connection with the March meeting of the board. T h e retreat will be held at Alleiton House on Wednesday, March 9. Recent, former members of the Board of the Trustees will be invited to participate, and each of them will receive the Trustee Emeritus Award at the meeting of the board on the following day, Thursday, M a r c h 10. Semester System Calendar at the Chicago Campus T h e president also announced that in agreement with the chairman, the
