The University has the option to extend these contracts for an additional year upon the same terms and conditions, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees. The contractors bid on percentages to be added to an estimated volume of material, labor, and subcontractors. The contracts are for individual projects estimated to cost less than $100,000. A schedule of the bids received has been filed with the secretary of the board for record. It is also recommended that the comptroller be authorized to approve work orders under these contracts for projects the cost of which would not exceed the limits established by the Illinois Purchasing Act.
