Be It Further Resolved: The following officers of the Board of Trustees and of the University of Illinois be and hereby are designated as the managerial group having the authority and the responsibility for the negotiation, execution, and administration of User Agency contracts and all of the duties and responsibilities pertaining to the protection of classified information: President, Secretary, and Comptroller of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois; and President, Vice President for Business and Finance, and University Counsel of the University of Illinois. O n m o t i o n of M r . H a h n , the foregoing resolution w a s adopted. By consensus, the board agreed that one roll call v o t e w o u l d b e taken and considered the v o t e o n e a c h a g e n d a i t e m nos. 14 t h r o u g h 19 inclusive. Amendments, University of Illinois Statutes (Articles I, III, and XI)

(14) The University Senates Conference has transmitted certain amendments to Article I (University Administration), Article III (Campuses, Colleges, and Similar Units), and Article X I (Student Affairs and Discipline) of the University of Illinois Statutes previously proposed and adopted by both senates in the following form. The proposals in Article I would add a new Section 3 to indicate that the general officers of the University are identified in the General Rules Concerning University Organization and Procedure; to require the president to seek the advice of the University Senates Conference on initial appointments of general officers; and to permit the conference to submit its advice on reappointments, if it so elects. Other administrative officers with University-wide responsibilities may be appointed without University Senates Conference involvement. Further, the duties delegated and assigned to chancellors by the president are required to be consistent with the General Rules, as well as with the Statutes and actions of the Board of Trustees. The amendments to Article III and Article XI provide for advice by the Senate Executive Committee of the campus on each appointment and reappointment of vice chancellors on the recommendation of the chancellor and the president. The chancellor is required to seek the advice of the Senate Executive Committee of the campus senate on each annual appointment of a vice chancellor (currently senate advice is required only on appointments of a vice chancellor for academic affairs and a vice chancellor or other officer with general supervision over extracurricular activities of students).
