ANNUAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS January 14-15, 1987 The annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in Chicago Room C, Chicago IllLni Union, Chicago campus, Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday and Thursday, January 14 and 15, 1987, beginning at 2:30 p.m. on January 14. President Nina T. Shepherd called the meeting to order and asked the secretary to call the roll. The following members of the board were present: Mrs. Judith Ann Calder, Mr. William D. Forsyth, Jr., Mrs. Susan L. Gravenhorst, Mr. George W. Howard III, Mr. Albert N. Logan, Mrs. Shepherd, Miss Ann E. Smith, Mr. Charles P. Wolff. The following members of the board were absent: Mr. Ralph C. Hahn, Governor James R. Thompson. The following nonvoting student trustees were present: Mr. Mark R. Filip, Urbana-Champaign campus; Mr. Edward C. Starkeson, Chicago campus. Also present were President Stanley O. Ikenberry; Dr. Morton W. Weir, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Donald N. Langenberg, chancellor, University of Illinois at Chicago; Dr. Thomas E. Everhart, chancellor, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and the officers of the board, Dr. Craig S. Bazzani, comptroller (and vice president for business and finance of the University); Mr. Byron H. Higgins, university counsel; Mr. Bernard T . Wall, treasurer; Dr. Earl W. Porter, secretary; and Mr. R. C. Wicklund, associate secretary. 155
