154 BOARD OF TRUSTEES In addition, the two retiring trustees, Mrs. Day and Mr. Madden, were further honored for their service by presentations of Loyalty Awards from Mr. Lou D. Liay, executive director and chief administrative officer of the University of Illinois Alumni Association. Each of the retiring trustees spoke briefly expressing their appreciation and regret in concluding their service as trustees of the University.
