410 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [September 20 Funds are available in the County Extension Trust Fund account for FY 1980. The monthly rental cost for this space through FY 1979 was $690.70. This rate has been in effect for six years. The basis for the increased cost includes installation of new air conditioning and heating systems, limited remodelling, and increased operation and maintenance cost for the building. The rental represents a rate of $4.68 per square foot per year and includes all operation and maintenance services. Purchases (32) The president submitted, with his concurrence, a list of purchases recommended by the directors of purchases and the vice president for administration; also purchases authorized by the president. The list of purchases was presented in two categories: purchases from appropriated funds (i.e., from state appropriations to the University) and purchases from institutional funds. The latter term designates funds received by the University under contracts with the United States government, private corporations, and other organizations; grants from foundations, corporations, and other donors; and University revolving funds authorized by law. Report of Purchases Approved by the Vice President for Administration (33) The vice president for administration also submitted a report of purchases approved by him on recommendation of the directors of purchases in amounts of $12,500 to $15,000, and a report of bids taken by the Illinois Educational Consortium for generic commodities.
