This proposal has been given careful consideration and a report has been sent to the Director which is presented herewith and a copy of which is being given to the Secretary of the Board for record. REQUEST OF CZECHOSLOVAK NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF FELLOWSHIPS FOR STUDENTS FROM CZECHOSLOVAKIA (33) The Czechoslovak National Council of America has requested that the University consider the establishment of a number of fellowships at the University of Illinois for students from Czechoslovakia, in exchange for fellowships available to American students for study in the Universities of Czechoslovakia. The fellowships available in Czechoslovakia for American students have been established by the Government of Czechoslovakia and are equal in value to approximately $500 a year. T h e Council's proposal is that fellowships of a similar value be established at the University of Illinois for students from Czechoslovakia. T h i s m a t t e r w a s r e f e r r e d t o t h e P r e s i d e n t of t h e U n i v e r s i t y . REPORT OF DEATH BENEFITS PAID (34) T h e Comptroller has been authorized to pay the death benefit to the beneficiaries of the following member of the staff in accordance with the University Statutes and the terms of his employment: 1. George Huff, Director of the School of Physical Education, $3,000. Director Huff was in the service of the University from September I, 1895, until his death on October 1, 1936.
