factory because of (1) fire hazard, (2) undesirable seating arrangement, resulting in poor vision in many seats, and (3) the elevations at the rear of the floor result in a series of steps at all entrances, which is contrary to building codes. T h e Physical Plant Department recommended that the present wood floor be replaced with a permanent concrete floor, that the seats be constructed to a curvature which will represent the permanent contour of the floor, and that the main floor and balcony be covered with linoleum. It was possible to do this within the appropriation made by the Board because of the very low price secured on seating due to seasonal competition and general business conditions. Consequently, after consultation with the Chairman of the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, the Director of the Physical Plant Department was instructed to proceed with the construction of the new concrete floor and linoleum covering for the main floor and balcony.
