480 BOARD OF TRUSTEES 2. On motion of Mr. Cleary, the Physical Plant Department was directed to proceed with the razing of the Old Medical and Dental Buildings as soon as possible after the Dental Building has been vacated, by securing bids on the same and awarding the contract for removing the buildings to the highest bidder who will demolish them in accordance with the University's specifications, or, if an acceptable proposal is not received, by applying to the Works Progress Administration for the approval of a project to raze these buildings, in either case on the condition that this be done at no expense to the University. 3. On motion of Mr. Cleary, the Physical Plant Department was directed to conduct negotiations with the University of Chicago relative to the exchange of the site of the Old Medical Building for the land at the southwest corner of Polk and Lincoln Streets now owned by the University of Chicago. Mrs. Plumb voted "No" on this motion. The Board adjourned, to meet again on call of the President. A. J. JANATA O. M. KARRAKER Secretary, Pro Tempore President
