A committee representing alumni, members of the Board of Trustees, and the faculty of the University, was appointed to consider this matter and make specific recommendations. For immediate consideration this committee has unanimously recommended that the new Men's Gymnasium be named the "George Huff Gymnasium" with the name appropriately inscribed on the building over the entrance and a dedicatory plaque within the building to supplement this designation. The committee also recommends the raising of a memorial fund the income from which shall be used to provide scholarships, fellowships, lectureships, or similar awards in the School of Physical Education, the exact details of which would be worked out later. In submitting this recommendation, both the committee and I feel that the naming of the Gymnasium for Director Huff should not eliminate other ideas for memorials which may be considered in the future. This matter was discussed at length. It was the opinion of the members of the Board who were present that the recommendation should be approved. On motion of Dr. Meyer, the new Men's Gymnasium was named the "George Huff Gymnasium" and the President of the University was authorized to take the necessary steps to make this designation effective.
