APPROPRIATION FOR ALTERATIONS IN MILITARY STABLES

(4) A recommendation that an assignment of $1,900 be made from the General Reserve Fund for the construction of new mangers in the Military Stables. O n motion of D r . Meyer, this appropriation w a s m a d e as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . K a r r a k e r , D r . M e y e r ; n o , n o n e ; absent, M r . Barrett.

APPROPRIATION T O DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

(5) A recommendation from the Dean of the College of Agriculture for the transfer of $3,500 from the "Unappropriated Agricultural Income for Animal Husbandry" to the operation account of the Animal Husbandry Beef Cattle Station. This transfer is requested to enable the Department to meet an emergency need for research in t i e storing and utilization of flood-damaged corn. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of D r . Meyer, this transfer of funds was made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, M r . K a r r a k e r , D r . M e y e r ; no, n o n e ; absent, M r . Barrett.

LABORATORY FEE IN METALLOGRAPHY

(6) On recommendation of the Dean of the College of Engineering, a fee of $4.00 was authorized for a new course, "Metallurgy 12, Metallography," which was offered for the first time during the second semester. Since there was no opportunity to submit this matter to the Board of Trustees before the semester started, this fee was established subject to approval by the Board. O n motion of D r . Meyer, t h e action of the President of the University in establishing this fee w a s confirmed.

(7) A recommendation from the Committee on Accountancy that the certificate of Certified Public Accountant be awarded the following candidates who have been certified by the Board of Examiners in Accountancy as having passed the examination given in November, 1936:

SABBATICAL LEAVES O F ABSENCE D U R I N G 1937-1938

(8) A recommendation that the following members of the faculty be given sabbatical leaves of absence during 1937-1938, in accordance with the provisions of the University Statutes, on the terms and for the period indicated in each case: Mr. Hubert Kessler, Assistant Professor of Music, for the full year, on half pay.
