BOARD OF TRUSTEES

[October 27

On motion of Mr. Barrett, the budget presented was adopted as the preliminary estimated budget for the next biennium to be reported to the State Department of Finance. On motion of Mr. Williams, the President of the University and the Comptroller were authorized to report this budget to the State Department of Finance as required by law.

SPECIAL COURSE IN GYNECOLOGY

The President of the University presented a recommendation that the College of Medicine be authorized to offer a special course of five lecture-demonstrations in Gynecology during the week of either November 2 or November 9, 1936, the course to be open only to persons holding the degree of Doctor of Medicine.

This course will be given by Dr. W a l t e r Schiller of Vienna, an eminent Pathologist and Gynecologist. T h e Dean of the College of Medicine proposes that a fee of $20 per individual be assessed to cover the expenses of the course. I recommend authorization of this course, the establishment of a fee of $20 per individual, and an appropriation of $375 from the General Reserve Fund ($75 per lecture) as an honorarium for Doctor Schiller. T h e income from fees will be sufficient to cover all expenses of this course including not only the honorarium but the cost of materials and the use of laboratory and other necessary facilities by those registering for the course.

On motion of Mrs. Freeman, this fee was authorized and an appropriation of $375 was made from the General Reserve Fund for the expense of these lectures, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Barr, Mr. Barrett, Mrs. Freeman, Mr. Karraker, Mr. Mayer, Mrs. Plumb, Mr. Pogue, Mr. Williams; no, none; absent, Mr. Horner, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Wieland.
