C O N T R A C T F O R UNIVERSITY D I P L O M A S (14) A recommendation from the Purchasing Agent, concurred in by the Comptroller, that the University enter into a contract with Rounds-Truman Company of Chicago for diploma requirements for a period of three years. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this matter w a s referred to the President of the University with power to act. GIFTS TO THE UNIVERSITY (15) The following report of gifts received by the University since the last report: 1. From the Crerar Library, 113 volumes in thefieldsof ophthalmology and otology for the College of Medicine Library. 2. From the E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Company, a $750-fellowship in chemistry for the academic year 1932-33. This is a renewal of the fellowship which this Company has been providing for several years. 3. From Mr. C. S. Ells, of Heyworth, who was a student in the University from 1879 to 1881, a Gurley transit to the Department of Civil Engineering. 4. From the Combustion Engineering Corporation, 200 Madison Avenue, N e w York City, through Mr. A. C. Weigel, a boiler drum worth approximately $250, to the Engineering Experiment Station. 5. From the Reliance Gauge Column Company, through Mr. J. Rowland, of Cleveland, Ohio, a water column worth approximately $125, to the Engineering Experiment Station. 6. From Mr. H. J. Kerr of the Babcock and Wilcox Company, N e w York City, a boiler gauge glass worth approximately $125, to the Engineering Experiment Station. 7. From Inter-State Sand and Gravel Company, the sum of $41.23, and from Lincoln Sand and Gravel Company, the sum of $35.83, for the continuation of the concrete arch investigation. (Agreement approved by the Board of Trustees, November 15, 1929, Minutes, page 436.) This report w a s received for record. GRANT OF S500 FOR PREPARATION OF A MONOGRAPH O N THE ACANTHOCEPHALA OF THE W O R L D (16) The National Research Council has granted Professor H. J Van Cleave . of the Department of Zoology $500 to a s s him in his research work on the sit Acanthocephala of the World. Specifically the grant is for technical and clerical assistance in the preparation of a monograph. Professor Van Cleave has asked that the fund be administered through the Business Office. I have authorized the Comptroller to receive these funds from the National Research Council and to dispurse them on requisitions drawn by Professor Van Cleave for the specific purpose for which they were granted. This report w a s received for record.
