WOMAN'S RESIDENCE HALL

(20) A l t e from Mr. Paul G. Busey, and a statement concerning the proposed etr new unit of the Woman's Residence Hall ( e page 445). se O n motion of M r . Trees, the action of September 29, 1931, authorizing the Supervising Architect to take bids on the construction of this unit of the Residence Hall, was rescinded, and consideration of the matter was deferred to a later date. At this point, the order of business was suspended and reports of committees were received. P U R C H A S E O F D E N T A L BUILDING B O N D S Mr. Trees, for the Finance Committee, presented a recommendation that the Treasurer be authorized and instructed to purchase #1000 of Dental Building bonds, and that the bonds be cancelled and retired. O n motion of Mr. Trees, this recommendation was adopted, and an appropriation of #1030 was made from the Reserve and Contingent fund for the purchase, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, Mr. Barr, M r . Barrett, M r . Blair, Mrs. Hopkins, Dr. Noble, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, Mr. Emmerson, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mr. Williams.

COMPENSATION OF THE TREASURER

Mr. Trees, for the Finance Committee, made a report of progress on the study of the method of providing compensation for the Treasurer. RETIRING A L L O W A N C E S A N D D E A T H BENEFITS Mr. Trees, for the Finance Committee, made a report of progress on the study of the method offinancingthe system of retiring allowances and death benefits. R E L A T I O N S W I T H T H E A T H L E T I C ASSOCIATION Mr. Trees, for the Finance Committee, reported a recommendation that the Athletic Association be associated more closely with the University. On motion of Mr. Trees, and in view of the report submitted by Judge Johnson, i was voted to place this matter in the hands of the t President of the University for study and report in the near future. F U R N I S H I N G A N D FINISHING PRESIDENT'S H O U S E Professor White presented a request for an appropriation of #5000, or so much thereof as m a y be necessary, for thefinalitems of furnishing andfinishingthe President's house. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this appropriation was made from the Reserve and Contingent fund by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Barr, Mr. Barrett, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Hopkins, Dr. Noble, Mr. Trees; no, none; absent, Mr. Emmerson, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, M r . Williams. The expenditure of this fund was placed under the direction of the Supervising Architect. At this point, Mr. Trees withdrew.
