(17) A request that Professor White be allowed to present the following matters connected with the Medical and Dental College Laboratories building. 256 Administration Building ( W ) June 15, 1931 Medical and Dental Laboratories President H . Chase, jtf Administration ( W ) D e a r President Chase: I a m enclosing a statement consisting of four pages, with papers attached, on which are listed items on which I recommend that contracts be awarded or orders placed for furnishings and equipment, or additions to the Medical and Dental College Laboratories contracts, in accordance with prices or estimates shown thereon. O n Sheet 1 is a summary of requisitions which have been drawn on the basis of quotations secured by M r . H. M . Edwards, Purchasing Agent. I recommend that Mr. Edwards be authorized to place orders in accordance with the attached requisitions. O n Sheet 2 are listed recommendations from Granger & Bollenbacher (in all of which I concur) for the award of three contracts, as follows: Steel Shelving—Lyon Metal Products, Inc $1 565 00 Draperies and Rugs—Marshall Field & C o 2 734 45 Special Furniture—Erskine-Danforth C o 7 n o 00 O n Sheet 3 1 have listed items on which either the Purchasing Agent or Granger & Bollenbacher have secured prices or made estimates, on all of which items I recommend that the Board of Trustees grant general authority to the Purchasing Agent and the architects, Granger & Bollenbacher, to secure definite prices where same have not already been secured, and to award contracts or place orders. O n Sheet 4 I have recommended that a contract be awarded to the Davis Construction Company for Service Connections and Equipment for the Medical Buildings, and that the estimated balance of $1,504.89 be encumbered for engineering services rendered, or to be rendered by the L. A. Snider Engineering Service, Inc., in connection with this installation. The rate of four percent on the cost of work handled is the arrangement which the L. A. Snider Engineering Service, Inc. has with the State of Illinois on services rendered through the Division of Architecture and Engineering. Yours very truly,
