LIBRARY 161 Fifth, certificate that the candidate has pursued the study of practical anatomy during two years and to the extent of having dissected at least the lateral half of the human body. Sixth, certificate that the candidate has attended two full courses of dispensary and hospital clinics. Seventh, payment of all the college fees in full. LIBRARY The College has for several years had a reference library of several hundred volumes. This library owes its foundation to the gift to the College of the collection of books of the late Prof. A. Reeves Jackson. It has been added to largely from time to time by contributions from members of the faculty and other friends of the College. Its usefulness has recently been greatly augmented by gifts from the Dean of the Faculty, in consideration of which, and of provision made for its permanent maintenance and growth, it has been named by the faculty the Quine Library. It already contains practically every book of reference required by medical students, and the important medical periodicals. In point of size and completeness it is the second medical library in Chicago, Newberry Library being the first, and in attendance of readers it is the first. It is in charge of a trained librarian, and is open daily from nine to five for the use of students.
