The pupils take, during the course, such pieces as are adapted to their advancement. During the last year Beethoven's Sonates, and other classical compositions, are studied. Besides the private lessons, every one is required to attend class meetings every week, at which the pupils play in the presence of each other and the teacher. Blackboard exercises in the varieties of time, accent, scales, modulation and transposition are given to these classes, qualifying them to render and analyze music more intelligently. The more advanced pupils have an opportunity to take part in public musical rehearsals, also in the public exercises given by the various societies connected with the University. TUITION.
