bids received by them on property damage and liability insurance covering University automobiles. The lowest bid, $769, was submitted by Boggs and CogdaV representing the Union Insurance Company of Indiana. The next bid was $770.29 (only $1.29 higher), submitted by W . R. Hidy, representing the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company. The Union Insurance Company is small and rather new and the Supervising Architect and the Comptroller are of the opinion that it does not seem to be of sufficient strength and stability to warrant the University in placing insurance with it. The Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company is a strong, well-established Company and they, therefore, requested authority to place the insurance with that Company at a cost of $770.29. Since the old policy expired on April 5, 1930, I authorized them to place the insurance in accordance with their recommendation. On motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this action was confirmed.
