Dewey Prather, Secretary of the Champaign County Milk Producers Association, and Mr. W . I. Riegel, of Tolono, Chairman of our Advisory Committee on Farm Organization and Management. CHAMPAIGN COUNTY MILK PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION President Armstrong stated that the purpose of the meeting was to give a hearing to representatives of the Champaign County Milk Producers Association and of the University to ascertain whether or not it were possible to find some practicable and proper arrangement of relations with the Association. President Kinley presented a copy of the suggested contract with the Milk Producers Association. WITNESSETH:

1. The party of thefirstpart agrees to purchase all the fluid whole milk it needs in addition to the milk produced by its own herds for use in its Dairy Plant Laboratory from the party of the second part who, in turn, agrees to furnish the requirements as made by the party of thefirstpart. 1. In keeping with a long-established policy to take appropriate note of local market conditions, especially with reference to retail price in disposing of surplus products in order to avoid loss through unnecessary waste, the party of thefirstpart will purchase the milk it needs for use in its Dairy Plant Laboratory at a price which is substantially equivalent to the so-called pool price paid to the party of the second part by the local milk distributors. T h e party of thefirstpart agrees to do this on the assumption that such a price has been established as the general local market price for this commodity and will accept, until such conditions change as evidence of such local market price, the certified statement of an officer of the party of the second part. It is understood that the market price which the party of the first part will recognize as the market price shall be the price paid by the commercial distributors w h o are under contract with the party of the second part. 3. In pursuance of this policy the party of thefirstpart will purchase milk from the party of the second part on a grading basis acceptable to the party of the first part, provided that the party of thefirstpart pay the gross pool price as established by the party of the second part for milk that contains from 300,000-500,000 bacteria per cc, or milk of comparable quality to that graded as grade B by the Association and which contains 4 percent of butterfat. 4. In accordance with the practice followed in the past, the party of thefirstpart agrees to purchase from the party of the second part the normal production of those individual members thereof w h o have been assigned to deliver milk to the party of thefirstpart and approved by the party of thefirstpart. T h e party of the second part further agrees to have such of its members deliver milk to the Dairy Plant of the party of thefirstpart as m a y be approved from time to time by the party of the first part. 5. T h e deliveries offluidwhole milk shall be m a d e on the premises of the party of thefirstpart at such a point as it m a y require of the party of the second part. T h e party of the second part agrees to m a k e such deliveries at the time and place required; but it is agreed that such deliveries m a y in whole or in part be made by such individual producers of milk as the party of the second part m a y designate and w h o are acceptable to the party of thefirstpart.
