and Mr. John A. Dienner, of the firm of Brown, Jackson, Boettcher, & Dienner, Patent Attorneys, was appointed for further inquiry into the matter and report to the Committee. Lavjra B. Evans Secretary President Kinley read a report from the sub-committee. N o action was taken on this matter. AUTOMOBILE FOR THE PRESIDENT President Armstrong made a report on the purchase of an automobile for the use of the President of the University and his family. O n motion of Mr. Barr, it was voted that a Cadillac limousine be purchased, and that the car now in use be traded in. APPOINTMENTS MADE BY PRESIDENT KINLEY The Secretary presented for record a l s of appointments made by it the President of the University. Alyea, Paul Edgar, Assistant in the Department of Economics, in the College of Commerce, for five months beginning February 1, 1930, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred sixty dollars (?i6o) a month. (December 31, 1929)1 Beam, Mary Werts (Mrs.), Assistant in Textiles, in the Department of H o m e Economics, in the College of Agriculture, forfivemonths beginning February 1, 1930, at a cash conpensation at the rate of one hundred thirty-three dollars and thirty-three cents ($133.33) a month. (December 30, 1929) Beeker, Elizabeth (Mrs.), Record Clerk in the Department of Administration, College of Engineering, for eight months beginning January 1, 1930, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred dollars ($100) a month. (January 3, 1930) Blickensdorfer, Philip, Instructor in the Department of Pharmacology, in the College of Medicine, beginning January io, 1930, and continuing until August 31, 1930, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred sixty-six dollars and sixty-six cents ($166.66) a month. (January 3, 1930) Brown, Glenn L., Chief Clerk in Agricultural Mailing Room, in the Department of Administration, College of Agriculture, for eight months beginning January 1, 1930, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of one hundred twenty dollars ($120) a month. (December 13, 1929) Crouch, Rhoda B., Assistant in the Department of Botany, on one-half time, for five months beginning February 1, 1930, at a cash compensation at the rate of seventy dollars ($70) a month, this superseding her previous appointment. (December 28, 1929) Douthit, D o n n e (Mrs.), Stenographer in the Department of Administration, Agricultural Extension Service, for nine months beginning December 1, 1929, at a cash compensation at the rate of eighty dollars (?8o) a month. (December 14, 1929) Ellies, Matilde, Assistant in Romance Languages, for five months beginning February 1, 1930, at a cash compensation of one hundred sixty dollars ($ 160) a month. (December 30, 1929) Fabert, Ellen Horn, Junior Stenographer in the Department of Dairy Husbandry, in the College of Agriculture, for eight months beginning January 1, 1930, subject to the rules of the Civil Service Commission, at a cash compensation at the rate of eighty-five dollars ($85) a month.
