I recommend that an appropriation of $1,815 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for this purpose and that the Comptroller be authorized to make settlement with Mr. Mitchell. Small. EXECUTIVE STAFF FOR McKINLEY HOSPITAL

(17) In accordance with the policy adopted by the Board of Trustees on April 8, 1925 (Minutes, page 106), I recommend that Doctors J. H. Beard, V. A. Ross, and Maude L. Etheredge be reappointed as the executive staff for McKinley Hospital to serve from July I, 1928, to July 1, 1929. O n motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation w a s concurred in. REQUEST FROM PROFESSOR GARNER (18) Professor J. W . Garner, Head of the Department of Political Science, who has been given sabbatical leave on half salary for the year 1928-29, has been asked by the Geneva Institute for International Relations to give a series of lectures during its second term, which extends from about thefirstof April to July 10, on salary. In view of the special character of the proposed engagement, on motion of Dr. Noble, this matter w a s referred to the President of the University, with power to act. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS RUTH WARDALL (19) I recommend that Miss Ruth Wardall, Head of the Department of H o m e Economics, be given leave of absence on pay on account of illness for the month of September, and that the President of the University be authorized to extend this leave further if necessary, on account of Miss Wardall's health. O n motion of M r . Barr, this leave w a s granted. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS MARY E. BRENNAN (20) O n request of the Supervising Architect, I recommend that Miss Mary E. Brennan, Chief Clerk in the Power Plant Accounting Office, be given sick leave of absence on full pay for one month during the summer in addition to the month's vacation and two weeks' sick leave allowed under the rules. O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this leave w a s granted. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS MAUD GUBBINS (21) O n recommendation of Dean Noyes, I authorized a leave of absence on full pay for Miss Maud Gubbins, Clerk in the Infirmary, from July I to September 1, on account of illness, and request confirmation of my action. O n motion of M r . Trees, this action was confirmed. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS SADIE L. STUBBS (22) O n request of the Supervising Architect, I recommend approval of his action, in m y absence, in granting Miss Sadie L. Stubbs, his assistant, leave of absence without salary during the month of August. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this action was confirmed. ARRANGEMENT WITH ST.
