LABORATORY DEPOSIT IN PHARMACY (21) Dean Day recommends that a laboratory deposit of $25 be required of senior students in the School of Pharmacy, effective September 1, 1928. The Comptroller has looked into the matter and advises me that Dean Day's recommendation has good basis. I therefore concur in it and ask your approval. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this recommendation w a s approved. REQUEST FOR FREE MUSIC TUITION (22) I have a letter from Mrs. Louise P. Haas, asking the privilege of being enrolled in the Music School as an unclassified student whenever she may be in Champaign, without paying any fees. O n motion of M r . Barr, the President of the University w a s requested to notify M r s . H a a s that it is the opinion of the Board that it has no authority to m a k e scholarship provision in individual cases. APPROPRIATION FOR PURCHASE OF DAIRY CATTLE (23) O n request of Dean Mumford, I recommend that an appropriation of $1,800 be made from the unexpended balance of the Department of Dairy Husbandry at June 30, for the purchase of cattle for the Purebred herd to replace animals which were sold from that herd because they had proved to be non-breeders or had been affected by disease.
