Net deductions during the quarter totalled $61,265, as per Schedule A, leaving a balance of $164,736 in the Reserve and Contingent Fund at the close of the quarter. The balance at the corresponding date a year ago was $133465. O n the corresponding date a year ago, the balance was $1,205,159. Budget Expenditures Board appropriations to departments for the currentfiscalyear total $5,880,840, including salaries $3,821,807, expense and equipment $2,059,033. These were 69.8% expended at the end of the quarter, and 2.3% encumbered. (Included in Schedule C ) . O n the corresponding date a year ago these appropriations were 68.6% expended and 2.9% encumbered. Building and Improvement Funds Building and Improvement funds for the biennium were 38.9% expended at the end of the quarter, and 15.8% encumbered, as per Schedule C.
