REQUESTS OF MESSRS. D. R. MITCHELL, G. C. YOUNG, AND W. L. LINDSAY FOR REIMBURSEMENT O N A C C O U N T O F ACCIDENT IN MINING ENGINEERING LABORATORY (41) Requests from Mr. D. R. Mitchell, instructor in mining engineering, and Messrs. W . L. Lindsay and G. C. Young, mining engineering students, for compensation in the amount of their hospital and medical b l s on acil, count of an accident which occurred in the Mining Engineering Laboratory on October 13, 1927, in which these men were injured. O n motion of Mr. Barr, the President of the University was requested to inform these persons that the Board does not see its way clear to take any action in this matter. NAMING STREETS AND AVENUES ON CAMPUS (42) A statement concerning the policy of naming s r e s and avenues on the tet campus. O n motion of Mr. Trees, this matter was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds for consideration and report. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR STANLEY WHITE (43) Dean Mumford and Professor Blair recommend that Professor Stanley White, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture, be granted a sabbatical leave of absence during the year 1928-29 on one-half salary, under the rules. I request authority to grant this leave if on further inquiry it is clear to m e that Professor White's work can be taken care of by the Department at one-half of his salary. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this authority w a s granted. AGREEMENT WITH DEMONSTRATOR'S ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS (44) Dean Davis recommends that the University enter into an agreement with the Demonstrator's Association of Illinois for the purpose of securing cadavers for the College of Medicine and the College of Dentistry. This agreement involves ratification of the new constitution of the Demonstrator's Association by the University and the execution of bonds. The University has been affiliated with this Association in the past as the result of an arrangement carried over from the old College of Physicians and Surgeons. T h e constitution has become obsolete and is in need of revision. Hence, w e are asked to ratify the new constitution and by-laws. O n advice of the Legal Counsel and the Comptroller, I recommend: 1. That the constitution as presented be ratified by the University. 2. That the Comptroller be authorized to execute andfilewith the Association the; bonds requested, which bonds are required by law. 3. That Dr. A. R. Cooper of the College of Medicine be appointed as the representative of the University in the Association. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, these recommendations w e r e adopted. SKATING RINK (45) A recommendation that the Board permit the Athletic Association to erect a skating rink on the lots owned by the University at the corner of Armory avenue and Fifth street, opposite the Armory and west of Fifth street. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this recommendation w a s adopted.
