APPROPRIATION F O R REPAIR O F W I N D S T O R M D A M A G E T O T H E STADIUM (16) The Comptroller reports that on December 8, 1927, and January 19, 1928, the sky lights in the northeast and southeast towers of the Stadium were damaged by wind. W h e n the matter was reported to him he notified the insurance companies, asking for an inspection and adjustment of the loss. The companies authorized the repair of the damage, the cost of which was $539-35. and they stated that a settlement of the loss would be made on this basis. The Comptroller recommends, and 1 concur, that the amount received from this settlement, $539-35, be appropriated to the payment of bills incurred in making the repairs. O n motion of M r . W a r d , this appropriation w a s made, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, Mrs. Busey, M r s . Evans, M r s . Grigsby, Mrs. Ickes, M r . W a r d ; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, Dr. Noble, M r . Small, M r . Trees. APPROPRIATION TO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLICITY (17) Mr. Josef F. Wright, in charge of our Radio Station and other publicity, requests a supplementary appropriation of $500 for his work for the rest of the academic year. Accordingly, I recommend an appropriation of $500 from the Reserve and Contingent Fund for the work of this Department. O n motion of Mrs. Busey, this appropriation w a s made, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, Mrs. Busey, M r s . Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, M r s . Ickes; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, Dr. Noble, M r . Small, M r . Trees, M r . W a r d . DISCONTINUANCE OF EXPERIMENT FIELD AT SIDELL, ILLINOIS (18) Dean Mumford, on request of the Department of Agronomy, recommends that the experimentfieldlocated at Sidell, Illinois, established in 1912, be discontinued. I concur in this recommendation and further recommend that the President and Secretary of the Board be authorized and directed to transfer back to the donors the land thus vacated. O n motion of M r . Barr, these recommendations were adopted, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, M r s . Grigsby, Mrs. Ickes; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, Dr. Noble, Mr. Small, Mr. Trees, Mr. Ward. AGREEMENT WITH LEONARD SEED COMPANY (19) On recommendation of Dean Mumford and Professor Blair, I have authorized the execution, as a minor contract, of an agreement with the Leonard Seed Company of Chicago for the purchase of onion seed and the delivery of onion sets. O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this action was approved. SALE OF CARTER-PENNELL PROPERTY IN NORMAL, ILLINOIS (20) Pursuant to the action of the Board of Trustees on July 14, 1927 (page 420), the Comptroller has prepared the way for the sale of the Carte r-Pennell property in Normal and to conclude the matter, recommends the adoption of the following resolution. I concur in the recommendation.
