PAYMENT OF EXPENSES OF ART EXHIBITS FROM A P P R O P R I A T I O N FOR W O R K S O F A R T (12) I request authority to use part of the appropriation for the purchase of works of art and Indian Archeology (made at the meeting of March 8, 1927, page 234) for the following purposes: Expenses of exhibition of Illinois Academy of Fine Arts at the University $250 Expenses of two minor exhibitions at the University 200 Expenses of members of the committee visiting the National Art Exhibition and American Water Color Society exhibition in Chicago 200 O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this authority was granted. LABORATORY FEE IN ZOOLOGY IO (13) On recommendation of Acting Dean Daniels and the Comptroller, I recommend approval of a laboratory fee of two dollars in Zoology 10, a new course in field ecology and ornithology. O n motion of Mrs. Evans, this fee was approved. LEAVE EXTENDED FOR DEAN BABCOCK (14) A recommendation that the leave of absence granted to Dean K. C. Babcock, on account of illness, be extended for two months. O n motion of Mrs. Evans, this recommendation w a s adopted. APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSOR ARTHUR B. COBLE (15) O n recommendation of Professor Townsend and Acting Dean Daniels, I recommend that Doctor Arthur B. Coble, Professor of Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University, be appointed Professor of Mathematics on indefinite tenure at an annual salary of $7,500, beginning September I, 1928. O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this appointment was made. APPOINTMENT OF LON L. FULLER AS ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF L A W (16) On recommendation of Dean Harno, I recommend that Mr. Lon L. Fuller, at present Associate Professor of Law at the University of Oregon, be appointed Associate Professor of Law beginning September 1, 1928, at an annual salary of $4,500. O n motion of M r . Armstrong, this appointment was made. APPOINTMENT OF MR. A. W. CLEVENGER AS HIGH S C H O O L VISITOR (17) I recommend that Mr. A. W . Clevenger, Inspector of High Schools at the University of Michigan, be appointed High School Visitor at the University to succeed Professor H. A. Hollister, for one year beginning September 1, 1928, at a salary of $5,500. O n motion of Mrs. Grigsby, this appointment w a s made. APPOINTMENT OF MISS ISABEL BEVIER (18) O n recommendation of Dean Mumford and Professor Wardall, I recommend that Miss Isabel Bevier be appointed Professor of H o m e Economics at an annual salary of $4,500, beginning February I, 1928, and continuing until further notice. O n motion of Mrs. Evans, this appointment was made.
