MEN'S DORMITORIES (3) The Supervising Architect submits the following letter in accordance with the request made by the Board at its last meeting for suggestions as to a site for Men's Dormitories: January 16, 1928 MEN'S DORMITORIES President David Kinley, 355 Administration (West) Dear President Kinley : In response to the request made by the Board of Trustees at its last meeting for a suggestion as to a site for men's dormitories, I suggest that the first one be located on the northeast corner of the new parade ground, which would locate i across from the Men's Gymnasium on the corner of t Fourth Street and North Drive; and that future dormitories be extended in a row along North Drive from Fourth Street to First Street. After this row of dormitories has been completed, I suggest that a similar row be built parallel to thefirstone along the South Drive. These dormitories would have to be designed with fronts to both the north and the south, and the service entrances would be at the ends. Yours truly,

Supervising Architect. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this matter w a s referred to the C o m mittee on Buildings and Grounds for consideration and report. DEATH BENEFIT FOR MR. B. C. STEPHENS (4) I recommend that an appropriation of $624 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund as a death benefit for the beneficiary of Mr. B. C. Stephens, an employee of the photographic and blue printing laboratories, whose death occurred January 16, 1928, while on leave of absence, in accordance with the action of the Board on December 13, 1927, and January 4, 1928, and that the Comptroller be authorized to make payment to the beneficiary. O n motion of Dr. Noble, this recommendation w a s adopted, by the following vote: Aye, M r . Armstrong, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Mrs. Ickes, Dr. Noble, M r . Trees; no, none; absent, M r . Barr, M r . Blair, Mrs. Busey, M r . Small, M r . W a r d . APPROPRIATION TO THE COLLEGE OF LAW (5) O n request of Dean Harno, I recommend that an appropriation of $4,000 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund to the College of Law for the L a w Library.
