HIGH SCHOOL INSPECTION (49) A statement concerning the cooperative inspection of High Schools by the University and The State Superintendent of Public Instruction and a statement of intention to continue the existing inspectional arrangement as long as it continued to work as well as it has been doing. This report w a s received for record. ADDITIONAL ASSISTANT IN THE SCHOOL OF PHARMACY (50) Dean Day of the School of Pharmacy writes me that he will need an additional assistant in the Department of Botany and Materia Medica. I recommend that this new assistantship be added to the Pharmacy budget, the salary to be $1,200 a year. O n motion of D r . Noble, this recommendation w a s adopted. APPOINTMENT OF MR. C. J. WAGNER AS ASSOCIATE IN PHYSICAL E D U C A T I O N F O R M E N A N D ATHLETIC C O A C H I N G (51) Dean Chadsey and Mr. Huff report that conditions justify the re-appointment of Mr. C. J. Wagner as Associate in Physical Education for M e n and Athletic Coaching at a salary of $2,500 on University Account (and $500 from the Athletic Association). I recommend that this appointment be made. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this appointment w a s m a d e . APPOINTMENT OF DR. COLEMAN R. GRIFFITH (52) I have approved the reappointment of Dr. Coleman R. Griffith as Director of Research in Athletics at a salary of $5,000 for one year from September 1, 1927. His salary is to be paid out of funds contributed by the Athletic Association for research in athletics. This report w a s received for record.

PAYMENT FOR SERVICES OF SCHM1 DT, GARDEN Se ERIKSON ON IMPROVEMENTS IN THE RESEARCH LABORATORY AND LIBRARY

(53) The Supervising Architect requests approval of a bill amounting to $522.88 from Schmidt, Garden & Erickson for services in connection with various improvements which have been made in the Research Laboratory and Library at the College of Medicine. These improvements include additional refrigeration, an incinerator, screens, and additional ventilation for certain of the laboratories. These improvements have been paid for out of building funds or appropriations made for the purpose but no provision has been made for the cost of the plans and specifications and supervision. O n motion of D r . Noble, the p a y m e n t of this bill w a s authorized.
