In view of the facts set forth in the above letter, I recommend, 1. That an additional appropriation of $641.50 be made from the Reserve and Contingent Fund, to be added to the appropriation of $6000, made at the July meeting, to meet the expenses of the additional drainage facilities referred to. 2. That inasmuch as the streets, whose vacation were requested in your resolution of July 14, have been vacated and their vacation is on record, and since the drainage job is now practicallyfinished,the provision of the resolution of July 14, requiring a contract to be signed by the President of the Board and the sewer contractor, be now rescinded and payment of the £6,641.50 be authorized and made, when the Supervising Architect has certified that the whole job has beenfinishedto his satisfaction, in the interest of the University. O n motion of D r . Noble, the appropriation w a s m a d e as recomm e n d e d , b y the following vote: A y e , M r . Armstrong, M r . Barr, M r s . Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Grigsby, Dr. Noble, M r . Trees, M r . W a r d ; no, none; absent, M r . Blair, Mrs. Ickes, M r . Small. O n motion of M r . Barr, the resolutions of July 14 were rescinded and payment was ordered as recommended. SALARY OF ASSISTANT DEAN H. H. JORDAN (17) I recommend that the salary of Professor H. H. Jordan be $6,000 a year, as head of the Department of General Engineering Drawing and Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering. O n motion of M r . Barr, this recommendation w a s adopted. SALARY OF THE COMPTROLLER (18) I recommend that the salary of the Comptroller, Mr. Lloyd Morey, be made eight thousand dollars ($8,000) a year, effective September I, 1927. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this recommendation w a s adopted. SALARY OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR H. J. VAN CLEAVE (19) I recommend that the salary of Associate Professor H. J. Van Cleave, of the Department of Zoology, be made $4,400 a year, instead of $4,200. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this recommendation was adopted.

SALARY OF MR. EDWARD E. ANDERSON

(20) A recommendation from Professor J. M . White, that the salary of Mr. Edward E. Anderson, Structural Engineer in the Supervising Architect's Office, be increased to $3,600 a year, effective September 1, 1927. I concur in this recommendation. O n motion of D r . Noble, this recommendation w a s adopted.

ADJUSTMENT OF SALARY OF PROFESSOR VICTOR E. SHELFORD

(21) I recommend that the entire salary of Professor Victor E. Shelford, of the Department of Zoology and Zoologist on the State Natural History Survey, be paid by the University for the next two years, while one-half of the salary of Mr. Charles E. Janvrin, Librarian of the Natural History Library, is charged to the account of the Survey. O n motion of M r . W a r d , these adjustments were authorized.

(22) The Supervising Architect, Professor J. M . White, proposes, following the suggestion of Mr. Garden of Schmidt, Garden & Erikson, that we use Mr. C. A. Piatt's services for future building sketches and campus suggestions. H e suggests further
