(10) The following recommendation from the Supervising Architect: June 11, 1925 President David Kinley, 355 Administration Building Dear President Kinley: I recommend that we buy from A. W . Stoolman Lot 7 (51^2 x 114 feet), fronting on First Street in College Place, and 1.15 feet off of the south edge of Lot 8, for the sum of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars (#2,500). One paving assessment has been made. Yours truly,

Quirke of the Department of Geology be given leave of absence for the summer of 1926 beginning M a y 1, 1926, to the end of the academic year, August 31, that he may go to Spain and participate in the proceedings of the International Geological Congress, which meets in Madrid in May, 1926. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this leave w a s granted. APPOINTMENT OF PAUL N. LANDIS (12) On recommendation of Professor Scott, Chairman of the Department of English, and Dean K. C. Babcock, I recommend the appointment of Paul Nissley Landis, to be Assistant Professor of English at a salary of £3000 a year, for two years, beginning September 1, 1925. O n motion of M r . Barr, this appointment w a s m a d e . APPOINTMENT OF ROBERT R. HUDELSON (13) Dean Mumford recommends that Robert R. Hudelson be appointed Extension Specialist in Farm Organization and Management at a salary of #3750 a year, for two years, beginning September 1, 1925. I recommend approval. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this appointment was m a d e .

LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR DR. WARREN A. RUTH

(14) On his request, approved by Professor Blair and Dean Mumford, I recommend that the vacation of Dr. Warren A. Ruth of the Department of Horticulture be extended one month this summer to enable him to make observations of certain experimental work in California, Oregon, and Washington. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this leave w a s granted. LOAN OF CERTAIN MILITARY EQUIPMENT (15) The Adjutant General of the Sixth Corps Area, Colonel Charles C. Smith, recently requested the use of the White Reconnaissance Car and one Garford V/2 ton truck in the service of the War Department. In order to facilitate the work I notified the Colonel that he might have this equipment and ask approval of m y action. O n motion of M r s . Ickes, this action w a s approved.
