PURCHASE OF PROPERTY OF C. S. DALE, COLLEGE PLACE

(6) The following letter from the Supervising Architect: June 9, 1925 President David Kinley, 355 Administration Building Dear President Kiniey: The only remaining house in College Place on our proposed parade ground i s owned by Mr. C. S. Dale. There is a house on lot 65 which comes in the line of the proposed street. Mr. Dale values his property at $18,000. H e offers a trade on the following terms: That he will take our four unsold houses in College Place and his own and the five lots numbered 10 to 14 inclusive, as shown on our plat of the Athletic Association tract, and $7500 in cash. The five lots will be described as follows: Beginning at a point on the south side of Armory Avenue 150 feet west of the west line of First Street, extending 240 feet, more or less, to the east side of Locust Street extended, and for a depth of 160 feet south of the south line of Armory Avenue. This area is figured from the west line of the property I have recommended that we sell to the Roland estate. Mr. Dale has an option on a lot in the north half of College Place at $4,000 which option expires on the 15th of this month, and ha would like a decision in time to enable him to purchase that lot on which to move his house. I would summarize the proposed transaction as follows: Cash £7,50° Dale's house 2,000 4 other houses 2,500 Land 4,000 $16,000 figuring his property at $16,000 instead of $18,000. I recommend the acceptance of Mr. Dale's proposal providing he will assume the unpaid paving and sewer assessments. Yours truly,
