BOARD OF TRUSTEES

BROWN-KNIPP PATENT O n motion of Mr. Trees, the following resolution was adopted: W H E R E A S , the Honorable C. A. Trimble, while a member of this Board, conducted the negotiations for the sale of the BrownKnipp patents, and W H E R E A S , such negotiations are s i l pending, and Mr. Trimtl ble has indicated his willingness to serve the University by continuing the negotiations until a conclusion i reached, therefore be i s t R E S O L V E D , that the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois does hereby express i s appreciation of thefinespirit shown t by Mr. Trimble, and does accept gladly the services offered by Mr. Trimble in this matter. INVESTMENT OF TRUST FUNDS Mr. Trees presented a resolution concerning the policy with respect to the investment of trust funds. This resolution was referred to the Finance Committee for consideration and report at the next meeting. PROGRESS ON NEW BUILDINGS Mr. R. E. English, contractor, appeared and stated that he expects tofinishthe general work on the new Gymnasium by June 15, and on the Library and Commerce Buildings by August 1, 192.5. TIME OF APRIL MEETING O n motion of Mr. Trees, it was voted to hold the April meeting at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, on Wednesday, April 8, 1925. APPOINTMENTS BY PRESIDENT KINLEY The Secretary presented for record a l s of appointments made by the it President of the University. Anderson, R. H., Assistant in History, on part-time, for four and two-thirds months, beginning February II, 1925, at a salary of forty dollars ($40) a month. (February 24, 1925)1 Andrew, J. W., Student Assistant in Military Science, for five months, beginning February 1, 1925, at a salary of ten dollars ($10) a month. (February 23, 1925) Bassett, Charles, Assistant in Geology, on three-fourths time, forfivemonths, beginning February i, 1925, at a salary of one hundred five dollars ($105) a month. (February 18, 1925) Baxter, T. H., Student Assistant in Military Science, for five months, beginning February 1, 1925, at a salary of ten dollars ($10) a month. (February io, 1925) Berg, van den, O. W., Student Assistant in Military Science, forfivemonths, beginning February 1, 1925, at a salary of ten dollars ($10) a month. (February 10, 1925) Boyd, Mrs. Ella F., Chaperone at the Residence Hall Annex, for four and onehalf months, beginning February 1, 1925, at a salary of forty dollars ($40) a month, plus maintenance. (February 28, 1925) Bunney, W . E., Assistant in Chemistry, on one-fourth time, for four and twothirds months, beginning February 11, 1925, at a salary of thirty-two dollars and fifteen cents ($32.15) a month. (February 16, 1925) Cooper, Mrs. Mary, Technician Clerk in the Department of Orthodontia and Children's Clinic, in the College of Dentistry, for seven months, beginning February 1, 1925, at a salary of ninety dollars ($90) a month.
