President Noble appointed Mrs. Grigsby and Mrs. Blake to serve with Professor Stiven, Professor White, and Professor Morey on the organ committee. PROXY FOR THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC C O M P A N Y (9) The Comptroller sends m e proxy blanks for the annual meeting of stockholders of the Southern Pacific Company to be held April 8. He adds, "Authorization should be secured for some one, I would suggest the Secretary, to sign and seal this proxy for the Board of Trustees." O n motion of M r . Armstrong, the Secretary w a s authorized to execute this proxy.

FORM OF BEQUEST FROM THE ESTATE OF MRS. ALBERTINA GEHRMANN

(10) The attorney settling up this estate requests that the University accept the $10,000 bequeathed to it in the form of six bonds of the College of Physicians and Surgeons ($500 each) and $7,000 in cash. I recommend that this request be granted. O n motion of M r . Trimble, this resolution w a s adopted. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR MISS KATHRYN G. VAN AKEN (11) Dean Mumford and Miss Wardall recommend that Miss Kathryn G. Van Aken, Assistant Professor of Home Economics and State Leader of Home Economics Extension, be granted leave of absence without pay from February 1, 1925, to June I, 1925, for the purpose of graduate study. I concur in the recommendation. On motion of Mrs. Evans, this leave was granted. SICK LEAVE OF MISS EMILY WILLIAMS (12) O n request of Dean Babcock, I recommend that Miss Emily Williams, Assistant in Physiology, be granted sick leave for two weeks from January 5 with pay. O n motion of M r s . Evans, this leave w a s granted. LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR PROFESSOR NOLAN (13) On request of Dean Chadsey, I recommend that Associate Professor A. \V. Nolan be granted leave of absence without salary for the second semester of the current year in order that he may accompany Mrs. Nolan, who must go away for the benefit of her health. O n motion of M r s . Busey, this leave w a s granted.

APPOINTMENT OF E. D. DOXSEE

(14) Dean Chadsey recommends that Mr. E. D. Doxsee, Assistant Professor of Vocational Education at the University of Arizona, be appointed Acting Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education, vice Professor A. W . Nolan, forfivemonths from February 1, 1925, at a total salary of $1,650. I concur. O n motion of M r s . Grigsby, this appointment w a s m a d e . REMODELING OF ATTIC OF PHYSICS BUILDING (15) On account of the crowded condition of the Physics Building, the Supervising Architect recommends that we cut dormer windows into the roof andfinishboth wings so as to provide additional laboratory rooms. This would cost about $15,000. I recommend that this remodeling be authorized and that $15,000 be assigned from the Reserve and Contingent fund for this work.
