SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS March 21-22, 1996 A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the Drake Hotel, 104 East Walton Place, Chicago, Illinois, on Thursday and Friday, March 21 and 22, 1996, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on March 21, pursuant to a call by the chair of the board. The secretary of the board gave notice of the meeting as prescribed by the bylaws and by Illinois statute. Chair Thomas R. Lamont called the meeting to order and asked the secretary to call the roll. The following members of the board were present: Dr. Gloria Jackson Bacon, Mrs. Judith Ann Calder, Dr. Jeffrey Gindorf, Mrs. Susan L. Gravenhorst, Mr. Thomas R. Lamont, Ms. Ada N. Lopez, Mrs. Martha R. O'Malley, Ms. Judith R. Reese.1 The following members of the board were absent: Governor Jim Edgar, Mr. William D. Engelbrecht.
