The contractor's bid is based on the summation of products obtained by multiplying an estimated quantity of work for 174 different items by the contractor's unit price for each item. When a project is assigned to the contractor, the project cost will be based on the summation of the specific items relating to that particular project multiplied by the unit price for the specific items required. Funding will be identified on a project-by-project basis and may include State appropriated, institutional, or restricted funds available in the campus operating budget. It is estimated that the yearly contract costs will be $200,000. A schedule of the bids received has been filed with the secretary of the board for record.

On motion of Mr. Grabowski, this contract was awarded by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Boyle, Mrs. Calder, Dr. Gindorf, Mr. Grabowski, Mrs. Gravenhorst, Mr. Lamont, Ms. Lopez, Ms. Reese; no, none; absent, Dr. Bacon, Governor Edgar. Contract, Asbestos Abatement, Urbana

(38) On June 11, 1993, the Board of Trustees approved the award of a cost-plus contract to M&O Abatement Company, Champaign, for asbestos abatement work at the Urbana-Champaign campus for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1994, with an option to extend the contract from July 1, 1994, to June 30, 1995, under the same terms and conditions, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees. It is recommended that the comptroller be authorized to approve work orders under this contract.
